The Community Fund welcomes new board members who bring a diverse cross section of skillsets that support the mission of the Fund and will further the impact in our community.
Donato Vaccaro spent two decades at Consumer Reports where he led the survey research department to conduct hundreds of surveys a year to inform consumers via the web, print, radio, and video media.
He also served on the Eastchester 2020 Census Count and has been on the Communications Committee for the Bronxville Manor Neighborhood Association since 2010, mostly posting news on social media.
Donato is from one of the largest, longest-standing families in the Town of Eastchester, stemming from four grandparents who arrived in Tuckahoe and Eastchester more than 100 years ago.
For the past decade, Laura Busker’s focus has been on her community and family. She has been an active volunteer in many capacities including: serving on the Board for Directors of CASA NYC (an advocate for children in foster-care); serving in a variety of roles as a Junior League volunteer (20 years of service), and as a trained Crisis Text Line volunteer. Additionally, within the immediate BET community, Laura has served as an Evaluator for The Community Fund, a MS Council Member, and recently became a deacon at the Reform Church.
Prior to focusing her time and resources on the community, she worked at American Express and as a portfolio manager for the Tramell Crow family fund, Crow Holdings. Laura has a MBA from The University of Texas and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University. Laura grew up in Texas and moved to Bronxville in 2018 after almost a decade in NYC. She and her husband, David, have two children who attend the Bronxville School.
Joanne Johnson is a Managing Director for the J.P. Morgan U.S. Private Bank and has served as head of its national Wealth Advisory, Trusts and Estates, and Law Firm Groups. Joanne received a B.A. from Trinity College (Hartford, CT) and her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.
Joanne is a trusts and estates and tax lawyer who practiced in New York City prior to joining JPMorgan. She specializes in developing strategies for holding, managing and transferring wealth tax efficiently and across generations for the firm’s ultra high net worth clients.
Joanne is a frequent lecturer and author on wealth management issues. She is a regularly quoted source to financial publications and has been a repeat guest on news and financial television shows. Joanne is a member of and leader of several advisory committees supporting exempt organizations in the arts, healthcare and her alma mater.
Since 2017, Joanne has resided in Bronxville with her husband, Ed Reilly, and her now 16 year old twins, rising juniors at Bronxville High School. Her family are enthusiastic members of the Bronxville community. Her husband just completed his term as Co-Chair of the Bronxville NPC and her daughter, Elle, is a member of the Youth Community Fund.
Peggy Belles is a life-long resident of Tuckahoe, where she and her husband Danny raised their five children. She served as a Police Lieutenant with the Tuckahoe Police Department, including teaching law-related education at the high school level and overseeing all Youth Services, including D.A.R.E. and the Police Explorer Program.
She is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and the University of Virginia School of Professional Studies. Peggy has served as Vice-Chair of the ECAP Advisory Board, on the Tuckahoe PTA as Chairperson for the Safety/Wellness Committee, and has been a volunteer for numerous local agencies, including the library, Tuckahoe High School, and the senior centers.
Today, Peggy owns a consulting business and also works with the New York State Department of Criminal Justice. She has an in-depth understanding of community needs, the grant process, budgeting, and youth services. She has seen first-hand the amazing benefits and transformational effect that the Community Fund has had in our communities. She is honored to join the board, the hard work of the Fund, and continue her passion for service!
