Bronxville’s Miles Chambers Earns Bronze Medal at the Pan American Games in Peru

Miles Chambers, a 10-year-old Bronxville resident and avid saber fencer recently became the #1 ranked saber fencer in the United States in the Y10 classification. He is ranked #21 in the country overall. He was invited by Team USA to fence on behalf of the United States at the Pan American Games last month in Lima, Peru.

SUNY WCC Dean Carmen Martinez-Lopez Honored by Westchester Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Dr. Carmen Martinez-Lopez, Dean of the School of Business and Professional Careers at SUNY Westchester Community College, recently received the Hispanic Women of Impact Award from the Westchester Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

National Blue Ribbon Schools

U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona recognized 297 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2022, including 20 schools in New York. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Secretary Cardona made the announcement during his Road to Success Back to School bus tour.
