Village Sparkled for the Holidays

The Bronxville Chamber of Commerce presented, “Light Up the Town, Come See Bronxville Sparkle” on December 3, continuing on December 5, beginning with Carolers from Concordia Conservancy, serenading store after store on Pondfield Road and Park Place on December 3.
Premier Sponsors of the event included the Chamber; NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital; Merit Auto Body and Village of Bronxville. Presenting Sponsors were Candy Rox; BXVL Coffeehouse; Value Drugs; Bronxville Diner and Booskerdoo Coffee and Baking Company.
Speaking about the opening night festivities, Bronxville Chamber of Commerce President Leah Caro noted, “Bronxville Village and Bronxville Chamber kicked off the Holiday Season with ‘Light Up the Town.’ Many of our merchants [store fronts] and the trees around the Village were lit by Christmas Lights and other Holiday Lights. The Conversancy Choir sang carols, holiday tunes, and strolled around Town getting everybody in the spirit.”
Light Up the Town continued on December 5 with a parade consisting of Eastchester Fire Department Engine Number 30, Police escorts and a municipal vehicle carrying the Bronxville Girls Varsity Cross Country Champions. Other participants included Chamber President Caro; Santa Claus, who was surrounded by kids; Trustee Robert S. Underhill and Heart of Hudson Girl Scout Troop Number 1506.
“I love being Santa Claus, it’s the greatest job in the world,” Santa exclaimed.
The Bronxville Diner provided hot chocolate, cookies, sweets and candy canes. “It was always nice to give out hot chocolate, cookies, muffins and watch children’s faces light up as Santa drove by,” Bronxville Diner employee Konstantinos Koloutsos observed.
A sign in the window of Toney Toni and the Gang on Pondfield Road said it all:
“Happy Everything!”
