Bronxville Mayor Mary C. Marvin convened the Regular Board of Trustees meeting on July 8th.
“We are working really hard on the Quality of Life in our Business District; folks have mentioned crossing double yellow lines, scooters, double and triple parking,” Mayor Marvin began.
“We have impounded over 35 scooters that don’t meet with registration, licensing and insurance. We added double yellow lines, crossing signs and the Police Chief feels that they are having a positive impact.
“Now that we are getting close to full complement in our Police Department, we have officers patrolling from 8am to noon in our Business District, walking patrols,” Marvin continued. A Resolution passed, appointing new Officer Christopher Layton.
Marvin then discussed making small but effective changes to Kraft Avenue and Park Place, making crossing safer, “and we are going to be finishing the Westside Circle, getting rid of the temporary bollards and I want to thank the Bronxville Beautification Council for their planters, sponsored by merchants, landlords, and organizations.”
Finally, Marvin suggested residents leave house keys with Police when going on vacation and that homeowners are responsible for repairing their cracked sidewalks, trimming overhanging trees and shrubs that go into the Village right of way.
Village Administrator James Palmer mentioned Con Edison projects, replacing gas lines having multiple leaks including Crow’s Nest, Avon, Park Avenue, Sagamore, and Kensington.
Regarding Stormwater projects, a new automated pump was installed on Hamilton Avenue.
Other Resolutions encompassed appointing Kevin Doyle as Acting Building Inspector; Liam Siegal, Senior Bookkeeper; retaining KSCJ Consulting for outside planning and engineering services; purchase of two Police vehicles; authorizing establishment of Capital Project for restoration of Maltby Park, Maltby Parking Lot and surrounding street infrastructure; purchase of a Jet/Sewer Vacuum Truck and obtaining Police Body Cameras.
